Classic Baked Cheesecake

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams of cookies
  • 100 grams of melted butter
  • 500 grams of cream cheese
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fruit jam for decoration

Utensils:

  • 20 cm diameter springform pan
  • Electric mixer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Parchment paper

Steps to Follow:

  1. Crush the cookies until finely crumbled. You can do this with a food processor or by placing the cookies in a plastic bag and pounding them with a rolling pin.
  2. Melt the butter in the microwave or in a pan over low heat. Mix the crushed cookies with the melted butter until a homogeneous dough forms.
  3. Line the bottom of the springform pan with parchment paper and pour the cookie mixture into the pan. Press with a spoon to make it compact and even. Reserve in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with the sugar until smooth and lump-free. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix again.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cookie base in the pan. Smooth the surface with a wooden spoon.
  6. Prepare a water bath by placing the pan inside a larger oven tray. Fill the tray with hot water halfway up the cake pan.
  7. Bake the cheesecake at 180 degrees Celsius for approximately 1 hour or until firm in the center. Allow it to cool completely before removing from the pan.
  8. Decorate the cheesecake with fruit jam and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
